CHILDREN'S HUNGER PROJECT

More than 50% of Brevard County students are on free or reduced lunch. Some elementary schools have 80% or more of their students on the free and reduced-meal program. The Children’s Hunger Project is a local ministry fighting child hunger.

It does so by providing weekend meals, thereby ensuring children do not go without nor come to school hungry. At Riverside, we partner with The Children’s Hunger Project financially. We also collect and deliver food that feeds children at 2 local schools: Cape View Elementary and Lewis Carroll Elementary. For the first half of 2022, we had the privilege of hosting The Children’s Hunger Project while its facility was under construction. In the process, we got to see first-hand the work that goes into caring for our children!
